Skullcandy DJ Headphones - G.I.
When investing in a pair of headphones you want three things: Great sound, comfort, and durability. Skullcandy is known for covering all three but has always been an advocate towards incredibly stylized gear, and these headphones are just that. I had the opportunity to try the Rasta colored G.I.'s for a week and I'm impressed with all it has to offer.
Sound - Cushioned ear pads lock in the crisp sound and delivers a solid bass. Depending on what you're listening to, you may have to tweak the equalizer settings on your iPod/Zune/etc, for it can get very powerful, so try not to blow out your eardrums. This isn't a bad thing though - it’s the fact that these headphones can take on such powerful ranges that I like it when you can tweak the sound to your liking. Though developed with DJ's in mind, any music lover's desire to be fully emersed will get just that from these headphones.
Comfort/Durability - These headphones are legit. Holding them you can tell they are built to last. They're very strong and stay on your head. At first I thought I'd get a headache from how well it clings to your head, but I had no problem with it. The top band comes cushioned with a synthetic leather of some sort so you don't have to worry about them sliding off your head. Each ear pad revolves in 90 degrees so you're given some wiggle room instead of a rigid frame to work with. The ear pads also fold into itself to make for compact travel(of course in the Satin Travel Bag that comes with it). I sit in front of a computer all day and I felt very comfortable wearing them for a long period of time.
Accessories - Being that the bill for this isn't exactly cheap, Skullcandy definitely gives you some fun accessories(on top of an already successful piece of gear) that gives your purchase some added attitude. You're given a built-in 'Emergency' Bottle Opener, an Extender Cable, Interchangeable Ear Pads, Satin Travel Bag, and a 6.3mm Gold Plated Adapter. There's also a skullcandy stencil in there to have fun with.
Whether you're at work or on the go, these headphones will stay on your head and lock in the sound beautifully. They are ideal for loud environments and prepared for spontaneous happy hours. For the price you're paying and what you're getting in return, its entirely worth it. So walk on buffalo soldier, you're enjoying some top quality sound along with some fresh looking gear to sport.
